Welcome to Mia Mosaic Classes!
Maria (aka Mia) Kokkoris discovered the joy of producing mosaics approximately 20 years ago and has since become addicted to the wonderful opportunities to work with texture, light and colour that the mosaic medium offers. Mia enjoys using a combination of media including ceramic, glass tiles, smalti, mirror, beads, pebbles, crockery and stained glass. Maria Kokkoris enjoys doing her bit for the environment and loves to salvage and recycle and make fun art with the end result.
Mia strives for new imaginative concepts. Her attention to detail is shown in her personal love for the art of mosaics and glass. More recently her designs have incorporated fused glass, which has added a deeper dimension to her work.
Mia mentors mosaic groups and values lifelong relationships with other passionate mosaic artists.
Mia is a member of the Mosaic Association of Australian and New Zealand (MAANZ)

Events & Updates
Mia is proud to announce she has installed her mosaic public art located in Broadway Shopping Centre, 1 Bay street, Ultimo, Level 1, outside Harvey Norman. It will be a permanent fixture for the next 10 years. Mia thanks Art Pharmacy and Mirvac Retail for falling in love with her art.
Titled - Women in Glass
Mia is inspired by the work of Gustav Klimt, who predominantly focused on the female figure. This artwork is ornate, elaborate and decorative, incorporating brightly coloured glass patterns with fused glass. This ornamental approach creates a unique illusion of sweeping movements and harmony, elegantly combining decoration, art and design. The intricate details of this artwork captivate and hold the viewer’s gaze, inviting admiration and appreciation of its aesthetic and feminine qualities.
